Tshwane University of Technology Navigates Covid Slowdown With Adobe Sign

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) had a major operational challenge during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. As an organisation that was heavily reliant on processing a vast array of signed documents, staff working from home found it almost impossible to get documents signed and sent back on time.

As the largest contact University in South Africa that in 2018 had been ranked by the Times Higher Education (THE) as one of the top 1000 universities globally, embracing technological advancements is a vital part of its identity. TUT was on the lookout for a smart and digitally-enabled solution.

The Challenge

As a platinum Adobe reseller, Learning Curve was familiar with the challenges presented by working from home and having to sign physical documents. The company had helped solve this challenge and revolutionize the productivity of many other organisations in the education industry.

Learning Curve was able to provide TUT with a proof of concept based on Adobe Sign that sped up TUT’s signing workflow and unlocked productivity to levels previously unseen. What’s more, Learning Curve offered proactive access to webinars & training, use-case collaboration and strategic implementation.

The Results

In no time, staff at TUT were blown away to find out that not only could Adobe Sign solve their document signoff challenges, but the product also integrated seamlessly with Microsoft Sharepoint, a preferred software.

The results of TUT’s adoption of Adobe Sign were excellent. The University was able to navigate the remainder of the Covid-19 lockdowns by deploying Adobe Sign to most of its administration staff, particularly users saddled with heavy paper-based functions while working from home.

TUT found an overall improvement in efficiency and time-utilisation. The adoption went so well that in 2021 the TUT CIO and Digital Transformation Manager requested that Adobe Sign be rolled out throughout the organisation.

As another mark of success, in August and September of 2021, TUT’s ICT department embarked on a range of training sessions to help users create useful templates to optimize their workflows even further.

Conclusion

Over its 12 year relationship with Learning Curve, TUT has had access to the full Adobe suite of products and services which has helped it streamline many of its processes. Learning Curve continually provides hands-on assistance and expert training that has allowed TUT staff to entrench their learnings and implement improvements much faster.
