Khathu Sibanda

Treasurer

Khathu Sibanda is the CIO of the University of Johannesburg. She is a disciplined and results-driven IT Executive, offering more than two decades of IT experience and expertise in directing successful implementations of IT Strategies and technologies. Khathu has proven success in analysing critical requirements, with a focus on business alignment and technology integration for enhancing competitiveness, increasing revenues, and improving customer service offerings. Her success lies in quick decision-making, strong ethics, a natural aptitude to lead multi-cultural teams and my ability to define new strategies that drive growth.

Khathu’s role is to be the strategic enabler for the University in delivering new tools and services that leverage technology and data, enable customers (staff and students) engagement and market the IT organisation across the University.

Khathu holds a Master’s Degree (Technology Management) from the University of Pretoria. On a personal level, Khathu demonstrates her passion for family, reading, mentoring Women in IT and driving CSI initiatives for disadvantaged schools and orphanages.
